Come join us for a fun test of your Self Defense Pistol Shooting skills. Following the Intl. Defensive Pistol Assoc. rules, we usually create 3-5 shooting stages that include steel knockdown targets and paper targets mixed into some stages of actual self defense scenarios with real life props. This is not a fancy equipment, race gun, high pressure shooting match for cash prizes. Rather, it is a safe, fun way to test your actual concealed carry equipment and skills in a re-created, real life, self defense encounter.
The equipment you need is a handgun at least .38 caliber or larger, a belt holster, 2 magazines or speedloaders, 100 rounds of ammunition, eye protection, ear protection, and a concealment garment.
If scores are recorded, they are based on your accuracy at hitting the targets more than your speed at drawing your gun and shooting. Any score competition is only against yourself and maybe others of your same gun type and skill level.
This is a fun way to test your skills and learn different ways to handle some possible real life, self defense encounters that would require you to use your carry gun.
The cost of the shoot is $10.00 per shooter and the stages may be shot more than once as time permits. The event is held on the Jackson Purchase Rifle & Pistol Club range located at 3919 Cairo Road, Paducah. We usually begin shooting at 2:00 PM and will run to 4-5:00 PM. Come join us!
